After the arrival of Coors Field to LoDo in 1995, the formerly rough neighborhood enjoyed a rapid resurgence, attracting several top restaurants, bars and clubs -- like Lodo's. Primarily a sports bar, Lodo's also offers elements of a full eatery (note the big menu, which goes well beyond wings and pizza -- try the shrimp bucket) and a club (note the sweaty hordes of nice-lookin' nightcrawlers on weekends). The true passion here, though, is indeed sports, and Lodo's offers substantial competition to its neighbor Jackson's (which boasts more TVs but less chic twentysomethings) and the Sports Column. The official stomping grounds in Denver for several fan organizations (including the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Giants, and Florida State), Lodo's offers 24 televisions between its spacious first floor and the even bigger party on the roof deck, which at its capacity, on mild Saturday nights, looks like an MTV Spring Break just waiting to happen.

Lodos sells out to the club scene on the weekend, losing its sports bar roots giving it a bad name. People no longer see it as a sports bar but just another club that you can't take two steps in.

It's a fun place, full of social possibilities, however it's so crowded you can only see 7 people at a time, and only the 7 people in direct contact with you can see you. Makes across-the-room eye flirting difficult. And it's much better when they turn off the sports, and put videos on the monitors.
