This great local spot pours frothy brews and serves up crispy beer-battered fish and chips. It's a place you imagine a chap such as Hugh Grant might hang out. Grab a pint of Guinness or choose from the other eight beers on tap. It offers mostly standard pub fare, but there are a few little surprises on the menu, such as the blackened tuna sandwich with cilantro pesto. A nice selection of appetizers includes the infamous artichoke dip -- bubbling hot cheeses mixed with artichokes and fresh herbs. If you're just dying for a grease-fix, slurp down the beer- battered onion rings, served with a honey Dijon sauce. They have live background music five nights a week. Located in the trendy Highlands, it's easy to see why it's one of the neighborhood's favorite gathering places. -- Ann Bender

Great value

The food is surprisingly good in this bar/restaurant. You have to be prepared for a lot of noise and possible band playing in the background. But, the food is reasonably priced and is better than one would expect. I eat here regularly.

Neighborly Pub

This is a really good neighborhood pub where the locals in the Highland, Berkeley Park areas hang out to enjoy the fine cuisine here. There are entertaining regulars that habituate the bar area. One of my fav's is 'Bob' a funny droll guy who I see there everytime I go there. The wait staff is quite nice also. There's frequently live music performed there in the evenings. A really cool place!

Hey jamo, I wish that I could have been your server, but I no longer work there. The service is to somewhat questionable but that guy (Eddie)his name is greg and is the best bartender in town. Not to mention they have to most beautiful servers. Maybe you should think about what you tip each time you go in. Get to know the people and The mead will be you favorite spot again.
