At this seriously expensive sake-fueled raw fish house, the servers are attractive, the cliental is needle-skinny glamorous, and the streamlined, urban-Zen space rivals the kind of sleek Japanese hangout you'd encounter in New York's Soho. The minimalist decor -- blond-wooded tables and chairs (the weight of a feather), pale hardwoods, and mirrored walls, mimic the understated sushi and sashimi that parades absolute freshness, as opposed to pretentious presentation. This is not a place for amateurs hankering for California rolls or jazzed-up rainbow rolls, but a bona fide sushi stop for seasoned raw fish-goers who don't blink an eye at spending upwards of $100 for omakase, a multi-course selection of the sushi chef's best offerings. In other words, you spend a bundle throwing caution to the wind and it's usually worth every penny. The lengthy menu also offers an endless variety of soups, salads, and tempura dishes, including Kobe beef and lobster.

Lunch goer

I have been to this restaurant several times for lunch because I work downtown. The sushi is outstanding. I have recommended it to many friends and they have all had great experiences.

Attitude Beyond Belief
By vastephl1 on 10/05/2006
My boyfriend and I attempted to eat here last weekend. We went at 7 pm on Saturday night, completely unaware that we would need a reservation. The hostess was relatively rude about it and we would have left without hard feelings, however, the people that came in behind us didn't have a reservation either (we heard them mention this as we were turned away). After we left, we watched them get seated -- they were apparantly regulars and after the "wink wink" they were seated. My boyfriend and I eat out alot both in Denver and around the country. This move made us feel like we were in LA or New York, certainly not the friendly city of Denver. I am sure this place has good sushi, but I will not attempt to return. There are other good sushi places in Denver and they have friendly service.
