If Denver had a Cheers, this would be it -- only with the bonus of great, made-from-scratch pizzas. Wazee Supper Club is a LoDo pioneer that's drawn a packed house for nearly 30 years. The original owners -- Angelo and Jim Karagas (who have since passed the torch) -- had real foresight when, in 1974, they converted a 1910 plumbing supply house into the Wazee Lounge and Supper Club. At that time, LoDo had yet to be coined and the streets of Downtown Denver's warehouse district were dark and undesirable. Fast forward a few decades and Wazee is the king of cool with the same eclectic crowd -- students from nearby Auraria campus, professionals from downtown office towers and young hipsters prowling LoDo's collection of bars, galleries and dance clubs. While diners may come to Wazee for the top-notch pizza, burgers and beer, even more people end up at this Denver landmark for its nostalgic urban charm. Wazee is known for its comfy, low-to-no pretense vibe, with a funky decor that mixes the past and the present -- boasting a converted 1937 garage door opener that is currently used as a dumbwaiter to shuttle food and drinks, a classic black and white tile floor and a 1930s deco-style bar featuring an old telegraph clock.

A great Night Spot
By Srbraukhof on 05/30/2008
The "Wazee" has been on my list of favorite spots for 15 years. I've often wondered how and why the patrons are so diverse. It has great pizza, an adequite tap beer choice and a great campy atmosphere.

I have never been treated so badly by staff in my life!!! Don't go here unless you want to get yelled at by people you are paying to serve your dinner

Ever since my father took me there when I was 8, the food has bee great. This pizza place will always be in my heart and all the memories of me and my father and the many time I spent with the love of my life. Besides the perfect environment and spectacular food I could never ask anything more of the Wazee. You can never go wrong with the Wazee for a first date to a quick meal before a game.
