But Fatburger isn't just any greasy burger joint. It's "the Last Great Hamburger Stand," a West Coast institution, and part of the reason (along with similar fast-food spots like In-N-Out and Tommy Burger) that the denizens of Los Angeles scoff at McDonald's flat sandwiches. Fatburger, now partially owned by talk TV's Montel Williams, is the only one of those hip Southern California burger chains to have spawned itself in Colorado. Hamburgers aren't the only slice of Americana to grace Fatburger's menu: there are chili dogs, ice-cream milkshakes, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and, of course, fries -- both skinny and fat. And if the "fat" in this place's name gives you the willies, try a Turkeyburger.
