Presidential hopeful Al Gore made a recent stop at Reed's while touring the Des Moines suburb of Beaverdale. There's no word on what the vice president ordered (the B & B Grinder? The Beaverdale Club?), but since all of Reed's down- home meals can be described by the word "hearty," we don't doubt that Gore chose the right place to fortify himself for the then upcoming primaries.

The new owners have done a wonderful thing. they have turned the alley into a patio which they can air condition if they need to or heat in the winter. The prices are moderate the staff is fast and happy to serve you. if you are looking for a family place to get a drink or eat. This is the place. No Tap beer and a good not great wine selection
