Chat Noir (French for "Black Cat") deserves praise for satisfying so many types of diners with relative ease on a regular basis. The Euro- style Sherman Hill cafe is the perfect place for an impromptu glass of wine or cup of cappuccino and dessert, a light meal of Chat Noir's famous dinner crepe or potato pancakes, or a full-blown bistro-style dinner. Are you looking for the salmon in tarragon mustard sauce you enjoyed during your last visit to Chat Noir? Well, keep in mind that the menu items sometimes change to keep entrees fresh and seasonal. The helpful serving staff never seems to rush diners, even subtly. This is fortunate, as the high ceilings, intimate small marble tables, wooden chairs and antique furniture encourage comfort and lingering.

this place has been closed for a few years now! the new place cafe de scala is beyond great....better than the chat noir ever was!!!

Eclectic Dining Experience!

Wonderful eclectic dining experience. Great coffee, wines, and treats. You must try their Creme' Brulee or a fresh pasta dish! The waiting staff is wonderful and the whole place gives you a great feeling of warmth and care. You will not be dissapointed! Also don't be afraid to try a crepe' or two....ENJOY!
