Iowa Machine Shed Restaurant   

The place is clean, the people are friendly. That's the "plus" side. On the "negative" side there is the quality of the food (fair to poor) and the prices (high). People go to restaurants for the food, not for the tractor rides for children or for souvenirs. Personally, I won't go back. The Machine Shed is an imitation of the Cracker Barrel restaurants whose food is much tastier and has lower prices. If you don't believe it, go to both restaurants. You be the judge.

To those nay sayers giving this restaurant a bad review, my wife and I love to go to the Machine Shed Restaurant. I think you have to know what to order. My personal favorite is the pot roast. It is very flavorable and and I always get so much that I have to take some home for the next day. If you stick to the family type meals that the restaurant is known for, you should be very satisfied. The deserts such as the apple dumplings are a must. We are regulars and have never had a bad meal. This is a popular restaurant so don't expect it to be a fast service type place where you get right in. SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY LIFE!

IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. EVEN WITH RESERVATIONS THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE A TWO HOUR WAIT. WE WERE PACKED LIKE SARDINES INSIDE, WHICH I'M SURE IS AGAINST THE FIRE LAWS. IF WE WAITED OUTSIDE WE WERE COLD. WE PLAN TO WRITE TO THE FIRE DEPT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. THEY ARE TOO GREEDY LETTING THAT MANY PEOPLE IN. A LOT OF PEOPLE STARTED TO LEAVE AS WE DID.
