Rate and Write a Review The FedEx logo is a welcome sight at the Splash Seafood Bar & Grill. Located in the historic Homestead Building across from the Civic Center, the restaurant relies heavily on Federal Express, which jets in seafood from Boston, Seattle, and San Diego daily. Accordingly, the menu goes well beyond common fishy fare like catfish or flounder or even shrimp scampi. Notable dishes are cabo poblano peppers stuffed with crabmeat and shrimp over a chipotle demiglaze and carpaccio, which consists of thinly sliced rare prime fillet with wasabi and crostinis. Even the appetizer salads bypass the pedestrian: The house salad is a busy affair with spinach, roasted corn, smoked cranberries, candied walnuts, bacon and gorgonzola jostling for room on the salad plate. Need a little reminder of just what type of restaurant you're in? Atrium-level diners can't miss the (quite clean) aquariums of coral and tropical ocean fish. The mounted mako shark can be a bit disconcerting as well, no matter how much you enjoy seafood. Splash is only open for dinner, but claims to cater to night owls by continuing to serve appetizers and desserts until the wee hours of 10:30 or 11pm.
