Nemo's Bar   

Poised proudly in the shadow of the now-vacant Tiger Stadium, Nemo's is just the place to get reacquainted with Detroit's phenomenal history. Along the stamped-metal walls of this eternal classic, newspaper pages emblazoned with stories of Tigers, Wings and Lions victories decorate the walls. By day, light from the brick street outside peeks in through the plaid curtains of this long-standing drinker's retreat. Meanwhile, regulars sit at the green-checkered tables, sipping draft brew and lunching on house favorites like the heart-stopping Nemo's Special -- a burger smothered with Swiss cheese and grilled onions and stuffed between slices of pumpernickel bread. To confirm you're in the right place, look for the tongue-in-cheek street signs reading Michigan, Trumbull and Nemo's; they're just to the left of the oversized photo of Nemo himself. Or else, just look for the green party bus that transports patrons from Corktown to Comerica and the Joe on game days.
