But brace yourself, the recent season of change has blown rock, rap and indie acts onto the weekly calendar. Scan the mammoth chalkboard swinging on chains from the tin ceiling, and you'll see names like DJ TopKat, in addition to local acts like Candela, Indigenous Tribe and Crablady.Part old-school game room, part barroom and part jam room, The Attic entertains a breadth of folks from all persuasions and age ranges. By day, the octogenarian gents challenging each other to chess balance out the local youth that follow the glow of a beer cooler that's filled with 150 brews from all reaches of the globe. For those looking for funky flavors in their stein, there are brews with seaweed, pumpkin and heather flowers included. If raspberry's your choice, The Attic pours Framboise -- the fizzy, delicious drink from France -- in both bottle and draft. If you prefer the bare bones of brew, fret not.
