If you're a chicken lover in Metro Detroit, you know about Chicken Shack -- or "The Shack," as the regulars like to call it. Formed in 1956 around founder John Sobeck's broasted chicken recipe, Chicken Shack has grown into quite the carryout empire. Still family run, Chicken Shack is, of course, best known for it's broasted chicken (broasting, by the way, is a high pressure cooking method that's supposedly less greasy than frying). However, a number of other Shack items can arguably give the chicken a run for its money, including the super popular Shack potatoes (in a league of their own), pork chop dinners, and big slabs of barbecued ribs. Warren is the original home of Chicken Shack; today there are 19 locations throughout the area.

all i can say is damn!!! its tender and the sauce.............if u get anything or taste anything from there, taste the sauce and the broasted potatoes....the broasted potatoes will make u not want french fries...and i love fries...the potatoes even taste good reheated in the mmicrowave or oven. try them with sour cream and their barbque sauce
