There's nothing special about the New Detroiter Bar -- nothing, that is, except for a genuinely welcoming staff and atmosphere. That and it's one of the most traditional places in town to catch a Red Wings game. Despite being shuttle central for home games at the Joe, the Detroiter is also an ideal spot to park it and watch. A huge screen on the south wall makes for ideal viewing, but like most Red Wings hot spots, get there early and camp out for your seats. The Detroiter's authenticity hangs on the walls in this place, as the beer distributor-delivered hockey promotions change yearly, right on time, ushering in a new season of blissful Wings viewing. And while it's a genuine Greektown nightspot for all types of downtown dwellers, there is nothing but red and white in here on game days. And lots of beer.

This is the place, I have gone there for years with friends and family and all agree, best burger and beer in town. The owner is great and it is the premire spot to watch the wings. I had to move out of state, but every time back my friends from all over MI and I get together at the Detroiter, check out the food and say hi to the owner, tell him John and Penny from Florida sent ya.
