When you get tired of being gouged for baked goods at the local coffehouse, you might want to stop in here. Hagelstein's may not have a fireplace or big comfy chairs, but it does sell muffins for 60 cents each, even cheaper if you buy them by the dozen. You can sit at the few utilitarian tables and have a coffee, but it'll probably be a grocery store brand. This isn't a faux living room, it's a bakery of old; Hagelstein's has been around since 1911. You won't find scones, but many of the locals swear by this place for the butterflake rolls, the breads, and the decorated birthday cakes.

out of business!
Once upon a time, it was a very good business. However, the company was sold seven years ago and it was never the same. Now, it's been out of business for more than three years. It has NO current license from the Dept. of Agriculture.
