Call Malarkey's a multi-tasking drinking establishment. Certainly, the pub provides metro Detroiters with a nice little taste of Ireland, including a notably decent corned beef sandwich and signature fish 'n' chips. But Malarkey's also caters to the spectator sports crowd with its many TVs, sponsorship of the Michigan Braves travel baseball team, and definitely decent drink specials during most game times. And, to ensure that none of their singing patrons leave unhappy, Malarkey's offers two nights of well-attended (and sometimes rather competitive) karaoke -- Sundays and Thursdays. Malarkey's Southgate location opened in June 2005; the original location in Westland provides Westsiders with similar, multi-faceted pub fun.

The One In Southgate is the best place to be on Friday nights..
Not for St Patrick's day
If you are looking for Irish music, Malarkey's does not come across any more. They used to be great, but now it is more for the younger crowd. You would at least think the band would know a few songs for St Patricks day.
Best Food/Service EVER
Honestly, I love this place. Both the Southgate and Westland locations are absolutely fantastic. Not only was the atmosphere fun, and relaxed, but the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was as sweet as could be, and the food couldn't have been better. This is offiicially my favorite place to hang out. Honestly, you won't find anything like it in either of the locations.
