Those who haven't been back to A2 in a while may recall this staple as the Nectarine Ballroom. Names might change, but the Necto's reputation as "the only place to dance in Ann Arbor" maintains. Believe it or not, but heavy-hitter DJs from Carl Craig and Stacey Pullen to the likes of Bad Boy Bill and the dozens of others who make the rest of the world dance, have, at one time or another, represented right here. Necto is a veritable garden of electronic delights, what with its stunning lights and sick, sick sound system. The gay-friendly atmosphere has been long embraced by any and all patrons. Both the main room, and the downstairs Red Room come alive with either special DJ performances or fun, wacky themes (One of these was a Michael vs. Janet showdown of Jackson sounds). Necto is loud and proud with an epicenter of a dance floor.
