Every 30 minutes; $16 adults; $10 children 10 and underCountry singer/songwriter Hal Ketchum began his career in 1979 after he moved from his native New York state to the outskirts of Austin, settling in an apartment just in front of Texas' home of country and roots rock, Gruene Hall. Ketchum quickly met up with such up-and-coming names as Lucinda Williams, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Lyle Lovett, who were venue regulars at the time. The rest, as they say, is country history. Eight albums, countless tours and several Top 10 country hits later, Ketchum has become one of the best-selling country and roots artists in Texas. His most recent efforts for his home label, Curb Records, 'Lucky Man' and 'Awaiting Redemption,' may just be his best yet, featuring Ketchum's trademark pensive and thoughtful lyrics while at same time employing a new, rawer sound that embraces elements of swamp rock and blues. -- Alex Arcone
