Since 1971, thousands have flocked to The Token Lounge in Westland to cut loose, tip a few brews, and rock out to some of the best up-and-coming bands metro Detroit and the surrounding world have to offer. In the 1980s, the Token -- which has operated under a few different names since, including The Mosquito Club -- hosted such hard rock household names as Quiet Riot and Dave Mustaine's Megadeth. These days, the club typically packs in crowds for groups of similar bands spanning the punk, rock, hardcore, metal and alternative genres. Thursdays are a special treat at the Token -- they offer live bands, $1 pints of Pabst, $1 well drinks and a chance to come inside without paying a cover charge.

Band is WET SPOT touring out of Florida. www.Wetspotrock.com The band WET SPOT play original music, and puts on a very energetic show, in which they set up showers, and pick woman from the crowd to get wet while they play. They have a gap in their tour, and are looking to fill the gap in Detroit. One of the band members lived in Farmington Hills most of his life, and will bring a big crowd. Looking for gigs from the 3rd week of aug. to the end of sept. we would app. your quick response, and will truly be grateful for a gig at such a short notice, I would really hate to bring the boys home for such a short period before they continue their tour in NY. You can contact us at www.wetspotrock.com , or at whatspot0990@aol.com . Thank you for your time, Wet Spot mang.

It's great at the Token once again. One side of the bar is for cover bands, music you can dance to! The other side is for original music only, its great. Always something interesting going on there! Check it out, you won't regret it!
