Ferndale residents like to think their trendy little 'burb offers something for everyone. No exception is made for romantic dining. Set up on a strip loaded with eateries of all kinds, the classy Via Nove (pronounced Vee-Ah Noh-Veh) is designed to please both eyes and palate. Visually, the flavor is crisp and clean and spread across multiple levels, the kind of place you might find in Manhattan where dining rooms sprawl up and not out. The food is the perfect complement for the ambiance, tasty derivations of central and southern Italian dishes, such as Aragosta e Vitello alla Romana, a blend of sauteed lobster and veal medallions with wild mushrooms, in a cognac cream sauce. Viva Italia! Via Nove!

I have no idea what other folks in this rating section are talking about - the food is by far the best in the area. The bartenders both couldn't have been more friendly, knowledgeable on wines and most attentive and the waitstaff was very professional and cheery. I almost feel like this restaurant is a target here for grossly misrepresented ratings. If you go here - whether for drinks, appetizers or dinner - you will not be disappointed. Plus on certain nights there is great live entertainment. That was wonderul as well - light and enjoyable and we were still able to have table conversation...
rude waitstaff
My friend and I were trying to enjoy a nice leisurely meal when the waiter came up and asked us how long did we think it would take us to finsih up our dinner.... in otherwords....hurry we we have other people waiting for a table... would not recommend this place to any of our friends.
One of my favourites
This place is a great spot to meet friends for drinks and to have a great meal. The staff is very friendly and happy to please.. I have eaten here many times and have tried many of the dishes on the menu and find most of them very good.
Don't waste your time.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary (just the two of us). At the end of dinner the waiter asked us to leave (my husband and I were having a nice conversation over coffee) because the table was needed for a couple waiting at the door.
I will never go back...and cannot believe how rude they were to us.
