Sakana Sushi Lounge   

My first attempt with a Detroit Sushi joint was a complete disappointment. I was told, and read, Sakana had a fused environment with excellent sushi. Voted best in Detroit, (Hardly) Fused it may have been, however, nothing exciting. I would have rather been in a quaint and quiet lil cozy asian inspired hole in the wall then here. First, no hostess, no greeting at the door. Had to wonder whether to sit ourselves, and once we did, another 5 minutes to be greeted at our table. The waitress seemed hardly interested in making any money, especially after receiving a roll i never order, in place of one i was anticipating. And it took a good 20 minutes to get our order. I also had a hard time wondering if the manager was a manager, or if he was the busboy. More interested with empty glasses, than the patrons. All in all, the sushi was good, not the best I ever had, but certainly the most expensive. I probably will never go back, as I search for a sushi place worthy of my money.

Good place - just over priced specialty rolls. Very fresh!

Great Music, Best Sushi in Detroit, very cool crowd. Also nice that it is a smoke free lounge
