Whole Foods Co-Op   

Recently when visiting the Whole Food Co-op on 14ht Ave East & 4th St in Duluth, I have noticed that they are only "green" when it is convient to them! They disrespect the businesses around them as well. They patronise suppliers who do not abide by "green" guidelines, such as leaving the delivery trucks running, spewing diesel fumes for up to an hour at a time, while unloading, just because the driver finds it inconvient to restart his truck! Also, the trucks frequently park facing the wrong way on a busy street, which is illeagal in Duluth, causing a dangerous condition for both pedestrains and drivers in the area. These same delivery trucks also patronise all of the on street parking in front of the store, as well as the surrounding businesses, when the store has an unloading zone on 14th avenue. And when the parking on street is full, then these same trucks illeagally double park on the street, causing a further dangerous situation, and blocking in the legally parked cars. When questioned on these situations, the manager said he had no choice but to allow such things, but we as customers do have a choice! We should not patronise a business which condones such practises and behavior from it's vendors, and which repeatedly claims in public that they are a 'green" business, but obviously are only giving lip service to "greeness"! I urge all who read this to reconsider their patronage of such an irresponsible business!
