Come sample the bistro-style cuisine at this popular spot on W. Eighth Street. Patrons rave about the breakfasts, served from 7:30am to 10:30am, Monday through Friday. Don't worry if you sleep too late, though -- equally delicious lunch selections await from 11:30am to 2:00pm (also Monday through Friday). Dinner is served only on Friday and Saturday nights (5:30pm to 9pm), but all is forgiven when you sink your teeth into succulent treats like the braised lamb shank with caramelized onions and garlic mashed potatoes, or the sole sauteed in an almond crust. The handwritten menus change seasonally, sometimes weekly, so the food is always fresh. Save room for some dessert made right at the cafe. The wait staff is friendly, the atmosphere is casual and original artwork hangs from the walls. Just remember, it's BYOB, and there's no smoking and no credit cards.

Crepes are worth the wait
By eriesistiblepa on 03/20/2007
The breakfast crepes are fabulous but plan on a long wait as they are made from scratch, but it's worth it! I agree with the previous review about the chairs--not comfortable at all, even a folding chair would be better!! Because of the wait time and the chairs, I can only give 3 stars. Food alone would be 5 stars.

I am confused as to why you would say that Pie in the Sky got mixed reviews and you will stay away. One out 14 reviews what negative, besides you haven't even eaten there. Everyone else gave glowing reviews. I don't believe this forum is for comments like yours. Unless you have actually gone to the restaurant and eaten a meal no one wants your opinion.

The best, the best, the very best except for those awful chairs where I feel as though my nose is in my mashed potatos! Also, I wish you were open for dinner more nights than just two! CP
