Best beer selection in Evansville. A real adventure! Excellent service! My wife's crab cakes were cold in the center. Promptly and gladly warmed up. Single 2 1/2oz veal cutlet (Jager Schnitzel) for 15.99. Single tiny cormeal cake was an side order for 2.99. Huge portion of German Fries. Food was well prepared. Will only go back for drinks and sandwiches from now on.

I had never had good germand food until I tried the Gerst but soon fell in love w/it!!! LOVE THE GERST!!!

Portions are HUGE and tasty too. A bit pricey for Evansville (lunch wise anyway). Our German exchange students think it is pretty good, except for the sauerkraut. They hate American sauerkraut without exception.
