A knowledgeable wait staff and delicious comfort food combine to make a dining experience stress- free. Each day offers a different plate special, from Salisbury steak on Mondays to baked cod on Fridays. Grilled foods include chicken, hot dogs and chicken -- plus breakfast. Sandwiches are served with chips, but regulars suggest ordering a side of fries. There are also more substantial choices such as mutton and hickory-smoked ribs. The owner's Aunt Val provided the recipe for the popular apple dumpling served in a cinnamon-sugar sauce.
