El Azteca tries to go beyond the tacos and beans that so many Americans have come to think of as real Mexican food. Still, this is America, so diners will find hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu cozying up to the pollo con mole and El Azteca's famous fideo soup. While the Benji Burritos made at least one diner think of the lovable pooch from the late-'70s family films, Azteca regulars can't wait to dig into the generously portioned Benji Wet Burritos. Be sure to order an extra helping of the made-to-order guacamole.

Best Mexican in the city
One of the best in town. Best chips and salsas, best fideo soup, best cheese enchiladas. You can't go wrong here, they have been consistenly good for over 30 years.

Outstanding
This place is a very nice change of pace, not like your typical cookie-cutter Mexican restaurant. As someone with more discriminating taste than the person that made comparisons to Taco Bell, this is my all time favorite Mexican place. I live in Indy and still manage to get there about 12 times a year. The salsas are different, but after you get used to them they are the BEST. The cheese enchiladas can't be beat.
