Very Hostile Service
By nokia44108 on 03/15/2006
What is overwhelming about this place is not the food, not the decor, not the ambiance - it is the service - come daytime or by night and you will be greeted by folks who behave as if though they dont want to be there. They look like they belong in a Grunge Video and have way too many things on their mind to bother with you. I have never come across waiters whose attitutde/behavior is scarry, but if you come here you can see that first hand for yourself. The prices here are about reliably $11 a dish. $1.50 basic bread up to $4.00 for it with some garlic or onions. Honestly? That is kind of expensive. Especially for what this place is. Its a no nonesense place. The tables, the chairs, the utensils all seem to be extremely basic - basic - basic - just barely basic. Decor-wise? And the platic tablecloths covering tables that are easy to accidentally tip over, and the booths with scotch-tape covering holes --- its not happening. The service? As stated. Definately not there. You'd have to be pretty desperate for Indian Food to come in here. OR in the case of Grand Rapids, it may be the only one or two in town. Maybe thats why the management doesnt mind the hostile waitress/waiters with grunge 'dont bother me' attitude. The food is Alright. Some of the items are good, some not so good at all. Thus, your chances of getting something good are neutral. Last Word? If you are really desperate for Indian food, then i reckon you dont have much of a choice. (BY the decor and freindly service, i'd have to say the owners know this).

Best Indian food

We use the Bombay Cuisine as a benchmark for Indian restaurants. Of all the Indian restaurants we have dined in located in Michigan, Ontario, New York state, and Massachusetts, Bombay Cuisine is the best!
