The NorVa returns. And this time, it's better than ever. Once a '20s joint, the NorVa Theater, which stands for Norfolk and Virginia, has reopened as part of the city's revitalization effort. Labeled one of the hottest venues in town for live music, the NorVa Theater is the place to be. Located in the old Downtown Athletic Club building, it boasts top acts and a relaxed warehouse feel and has been likened to Washington, DC's 9:30 Club. Owners hope it's the recipe for success -- and so far so good. The NorVa books big names. Expect to find concerts by The Psychedelic Furs, Brian McKnight, the Neville Brothers, and Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. But don't wait around to get your tickets -- the area's newest music hall isn't about accommodating thousands of people. It's prepared to handle crowds up to 1,500. Equipped with the best acoustics around, the NorVa is all about enjoying the entire music experience, and this club believes in serving up a more intimate setting -- all the better to enjoy your favorite music.

Happy 4/20/07.Not the Boat House but good enough. The prices are to high for achohol and the bouncers are jerks. I have seen many great shows here. Support your bands and go see them. Happy 4/20/07

I do not care for the Norva at all. Yes you get to be closer to the band...IF you get there 10 hours before it starts. The bars are the best thing about it. Which isn't saying much. When people pack in there, you can't even move not even to take a step forward or back. Just don't care for the Norva at all.
