Four nights a week at the Thoroughgood Inn, comedy is king. The Comedy Club features nationally famous comedians, plus improv and comedy workshops from Wednesday through Saturday nights. If you like your salads and sandwiches with a side of laughter, this is a place you should look into.On Wednesday and Thursday nights, the club offers a unique experience for lovers of make-it-up-as-you-go comedy. The comedy and improv workshops feature local talent trying out new material and polishing their acts, all followed by an improv act with scenarios called out by the audience. And best of all, these shows are free! When the weekend comes, the big guns come out. The country's top funnymen and funnywomen come to Virginia's oldest comedy club and let fly their funniest stuff. The name acts usually get an up-and-comer to warm the place up. Who knows, you could see the next Richard Pryor or Jerry Seinfeld.
