Alfred's Victorian   

Other than atmosphere, it's a 2 star restaurant. It figures that the only person who doesn't like this place is from CA. They serve bogus entrees, { they sometimes serve frozen entrees from a food distributor}, they charge high prices for below par meals. Enjoy, central PA!!!

I'm from CA and I made a reservation over the phone for a romantic intimate evening of dining with a friend from PA. We found a bar with no bartender and when someone finally came and we ordered wine, she poured it from a gallon jug with the glass sitting on the bar. The alcove was both secluded and romantic but we expected better service, not expecting to be ignored. Slow service. Would not recommend or return

Alfreds is a one of a kind. The ultimate in romantic and atmosphere. From the minute you ascend the sandstone walkway through the ornate doorway, you are swept back into a time of what it may have been like for a Victorian romance. The table side ceasars and steak diane or baked alaska are a memory in and of themself. While a little pricey, you certainly get what you pay for and never go away hungary. Parking needs to be improved as it's only available on the street. Guaranteed to please even the picky diner. Reservations strongly suggested. Personally, it's one of my favorites. Also a great place to propose.
