Rate and Write a Review In the heart of Hartford, a friendly neighborhood bar welcomes newcomers as warmly as its regulars. A touchstone of the local gay and lesbian bar scene, the Chez Est works hard to earn its inviting reputation. Brick walls adorned with artwork add warmth touches to this cozy establishment. The mirrored dance floor gets hopping when the live DJ spins vinyl. Theme nights are popular, and have included "jukebox night" (a laidback atmosphere) and "leather night" (a bit more rowdy), as well as other nights for karaoke, drag and ladies. A menu consisting of pub grub like sandwiches and burgers is always available. During the warmer months, the patio is a fun place for people watching. -- Nancy Benson

ITS OK
besides it is to small to dance I'm surprise they don't move to a bigger place like Santuary,do people remeber that place, specially on Sunday's tea dance.
I miss The Chez, take me back!
Greetings from sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
I moved from Avon, Ct. to Fort Lauderdale nearly 8 years ago. Before I left Connecticut I became a regular at Chez Est and met many nice friends there. Although there are many, many more gay people living here in South Florida as well as many gay bars I really mean it when I say I truly miss the comfort, loving and friendly people at the Chez Est. I look forward to returning to Connecticut and revisiting Chez Est.
Best regards,
