In ShortBoomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

Bad Experience
Hi, My name is Carol Kolb, my address is 70316 K West St., Covington, La. My family and I had a bad experience at Outback Monday night. We all ordered steaks, 5 of us, and they were all cooked wrong, plus it took them an hour to get to us, we did not want to say anything because we thought it would take another hour. Everybody had the wrong sides on their plates, do I need to say more, it was bad.

This is our fave -- we love the bloomin' onion, steaks, etc. My husband loves the rack of lamb.
