The Windbag Saloon has a colorful, checkered past. Before it became a restaurant, it was a bowling alley. And before that, up until 1973, it was Big Dorothys brothel. Named in honor of the hot political debates youre likely to over hear there, the Windbag Saloon is a popular hangout. Politicians, professionals, snowboarders and those just passing through town all come for the good food and lively atmosphere. The menu features steak, seafood and chicken dishes. Take a cue from the locals and order the ribs. The coconut-battered Thai shrimp and herb-crusted filet mignon are also excellent choices. Finish it off with a slice of mud pie. Be prepared for a wait on Friday and Saturday nights. --Heather Mikesell

Fresh food & Excellent Service
This was a great place to eat. Great atmosphere, caring service, lively people in attendence and the place has a history. Most importantly, the food and drinks were awesome. One of the best places to eat in Helena!
over priced and over rated
The prices were way to high for a hick town and for the quality of food served by underclassed clumbsy servers,,,,,,avoid this place if at all possible unless you are a drunk
