Shige's Saimin Restaurant   

When I dream about Saimin, I dream of Shige's in Wahiawa. One of the first things that make me comfortable in an eating establishment is the cleanliness of the tables, utensils, etc. Shige's is a spotless, spacious, well-lit establishment, though nestled in one of the otherwise 'dirtier' neighborhoods around... and I didn't even start talking about the food yet! The noodles of their famous saimin is unlike others I have seen. It is a flat, almost shoestring-like noodle as opposed to the traditional cylindrical type you find in Cup-O-Noodle. And their soup base... mmmmm! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Don't forget to also order their homemade hamburger. Tastes just like momma used to make. Actually, my momma never made burgers this good... :P Take a leisurely drive out to Wahiawa and enjoy a hot bowl of saimin from the island's best Saimin shop: Shige's! P.S. They are open 'til midnight on the weekends for those with the late night munchies! YUM!
