Griff's Shenanigans Cafe & Bar   

Make sure you are a fan of the teams of the owners and friends because NO ONE at this establishment has a sense of humor. I came to visit Houston for 2 weeks LOVING this bar until one bad experience where I will never come back. I come from a football loving town where most normal people enjoy the game and sport and also can have a sense of humor, including the opposing team. This is not the case here. I love the bartenders but besides that the negative presence of such unfriendly owners (and friends) made this bar a never again. I love me some dive bars, but this one is a dump. By the way Vern, Go Gators!!!!

My friends and I haunted Grif's for years in the 70s and 80s - and I know a bunch of people met their future mates there! That's where my husband and I met - 2/21/86 - and we'll celebrate our 20th anniversary in December. The best St. Patty's day party anywhere!!! And oh, the parade... But what happened to the "Shillaleigh" in the name?
