Patrenella's Cafe   

Patrenella's was and still is an amazing experience. I have been dining here for years and, yes, there have been some changes mainly for the better. The menu has added new items, such as the Veal Bolgnese which is a very flavorful pasta dish. The desert menu (which you have to ask a waiter for), includes a homemade Italian Cream Cake, which I was informed was made in the family by one of Sammy Patrenella's daughters. The service is exceptional, and lucky guests may even be waited on by the family with Sammy always willing to stop by and chat up the tables. On the downside, some of the prices have gone up. Some of the other consistent patrons feel the need to complain, however, I have also noticed that the menu prices have not been augmented at all for about 8 years. A moderate increase in price is hardly something to complain about with the quality, quantity, and atmosphere diners get at this quaint Italian eatery.

I have been dining at Patrenalla's cafe for the past 10 years with very favorable experiences. I recently celebrated my birthday their and was shocked by the new menu and prices. My chicken marsala dish used to be $12 and is now $16. All entrees used to come with a complimentary salad and are now a la carte for $9. Even the cheese and olives come with a price tag. I understand making subtle changes with the prices but I think the chef and Mr. Patrenella have made prices a sticker shock for this patron!!

This has been a favorite of mine for years. Perfect for a relaxing yet romantic evening.
