The 611 is a gas and lesbian neighborhood bar located in one of the quaint historic buildings that predominate in that area of town. While the building itself is architecturally interesting with quarters for the owners above, the interior is non-descript with a main bar area strung with Christmas lights and two pool tables. According to management, the patrons of the establishment prefer most nights to sit out on the patio amongst the numerous trees and historic cottages that line the streets around the bar. Drinks are cheap and the place opens early, except on Sundays, in order to serve folks from the Medical Center that work the third shift. The bar often advertises a breakfast club that serves domestic beers, well drinks, mimosas or Irish coffees for $1.50 plus offers a light brunch on Sunday. 611s ambitions are simple, according to management, to provide a fun, place for neighborhood folks of all persuasions to relax.
