Theres nothing especially French on the menu at Absinthe, and you won't find any of the potent green liquor behind the bar. The name instead signifies a creative spirit, in the form of concept, cuisine and music: Absinthe, the drink, was thought to inspire artistic genius; Absinthe, the lounge, is designed for music lovers and foodies. The menu here is surprisingly gourmet, with snacks like smoked salmon carpaccio and homemade thin crust pizzas. Drinks are more bourgeois, including bottled beer and standard well drinks. Wednesdays are B.Y.O.C.D. (Bring Your Own CD) night, where patrons are welcomed to play selections from their own music collection. Food is served until 2AM nightly.
