Antonio Rosa learned to love the sharp, spicy scents of onions, garlic and peppery meats wafting from his parent's little cafe in Pozzallo, Italy. So much so, he started his own restaurant when he moved to New York in the early 1960s, bringing his family recipes and cooking secrets with him. Today, Antonio's Flying Pizza Italian Restaurant near the Galleria is a popular venue in Houston, featuring their famous, hand-tossed pies and authentic Italian dishes. Since Antonio's is known for its pizza, many go for the Sicilian pizza with a variety of favorite toppings. Heartier appetites have a choice of classic Italian entrees like the thick and saucy lasagna, ravioli with meat sauce or Pasta Primavera with white or red sauce. End with a sweet serving of tiramisu or cannoli. Single glasses of Chardonnay, Cabernet, Zinfindel or full bottles of wines like Ruffino Chianti Italy and Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio are also available. -- Lyn Foster
