Arcodoro, just north of the Galleria, is a beautiful Mediterranean restaurant decorated with hand-painted tiles, murals and marble from the quarries of Sardinia, an old-world island off the West Coast of Italy. It attracts a faithful happy hour crowd who enjoy signature cocktails (try their delicious margarita), Grappas and the vodka-laced Fruitini. Lunch and dinner patrons applaud authentic Sardinian dishes that are hard to find in America: Pane Carasau, Sa Fregula (a traditional Sardinian clam soup), and teardrop pasta with wild boar. Costata d'Oro, for the truly hungry, is an aged rib-eye marinated in wine, garlic, rosemary and balsamic vinegar. Top off your meal with coffee cordials and Seadas al Miele, a puffed-pastry filled with sweet cheese, lemon and mint, lightly fried and drizzled with bitter honey. Lunch and dinner are served daily, with an extensive brunch on Sundays. -- Lyn Foster

Solid "First String" at the bar
By Duxman2000 on 05/16/2008
This applies to all of the entries in the "Happy Hour" listing....why is there such a large rambling about the decor and food? I thought this was about "Happy Hour"? At the Armadillo..."sidle up and grab a beer"? That's all that was said about the supposed subject matter! If I want information on lunch specials or evening musical artists, I'll consult another category!

A poor value for Houston

This restaurant is way too expensive for the quality delivered. The service is arrogant and poor. Atmosphere is mediocre. Others are better

slippery and sliding slope
By yourptchef on 06/21/2005
Arcodoro has been my all-time favourite for years. In my opinion it is one of only two (symposio is the other) authentic Italian restaurants in Houston. I have been taking all my best clients there and raving aboout it. However lately I and some of my guests have experienced one disappointment after another. The service is getting careless and annoying and the prices keep going up while the value declines fast. I will not be going back.

not worth the dough $$

Too expensive for the small portions and uneven service. I have had much better food and service at Vincent's, Nino's. Much better places in Houston
