If you're an undergrad, grad school student, med school student or young professional, chances are you've been to Baker Street. Set in Rice's ever-popular Village Arcade, where several watering holes reside in friendly competition, it's almost surprising that Baker Street is rarely without a crowd during operating hours. Best known for being a happy hour haven, Baker Street is equally popular at night as it is during the day. At first glance, the bar's interior resembles a classic English pub, with its wooden seats and paneling, darkened atmosphere and wide selection of beers. But true to American culture, you will also find large TVs, trivia games, an outdoor patio and liquor a-plenty. -- Kristen E. Campbell

Last Resort Choice
Baker's Street is the safe house of knowing what to expect. Its always overcrowded, same style bands, frat boy haven with all american girls. If you are looking for more originality with an acletic atmosphere of people, try Westhiemer/downtown direction.
