Bellaire Broiler features simple, all-American burgers. Nothing fancy, just down home cooking and low, low prices. Mushrooms and chili are the most exotic burger toppings offered with crinkle cut fries, thick gooey shakes and fried onion rings hand dipped in a crumble crust -- the most popular side orders. Prices at the Bellaire Broiler seem to be frozen in time. The Broiler Burger Steak Special is a half pound patty slathered with barbecue sauce, accompanied by two side orders and Texas toast for less than $6 while the kiddy size burger is just over $1. And it's not just the prices that seem to come from another era. The main dining area looks like a '50s rumpus room with faded wood paneling, knickknacks filling the shelves of a room divider that separates the pickup counter from the orange vinyl booths. A television hums in the corner next to a tiny bar surrounded by four stools -- that's the smoking section.
