As Houston's oldest sports bar, Bubba's at the Park, offers the coolest location -- just askance from Memorial Park on Washington Ave. -- for sports lovers to drink, talk and watch sporting events. In fact, the spirit of the playing fields seems to waft from the park's luscious green space straight into the bar and grill. Bubba's regulars are an eclectic group of alumni associations, intramural teams, betting enthusiasts and even a contingency of NASCAR fans. The burgers and beers are relatively cheap, about $2.50 for a domestic beer and $3.25 for a specialty beer. The atmosphere is casual, and with its patio and rough-hewn interior, sort of outdoorsy. Bubba's has 15 TVs scattered throughout the restaurant, and according to its patrons, will find and air just about any requested game. Although it is primarily a sports bar, its environment and food menu, which in addition to burgers includes healthy items like chicken breast salad, does not necessarily exclude families. Bubba's closes early on Saturday and Sundays to accommodate the numerous private parties its regulars like to host.

I took the whole fa.mily after a baseball game. Food was great, the burgers were big and tastey. Lots of Plasma TV's. Staff very friendly. Will make it a regular stop after games and to just grab a quick meal

Best burger in Houston
By curtisbrooks on 02/01/2008
I watched the Playoffs at Bubba's. It was a lot of fun with great food andbig TV's. I plan on watching the Super Bowl there. They had one of the best hamburgers and home made fries that I've had in a long time.
