Spending the morning in the Medical Center area? Stop in at the Buffalo Grille for a Western-themed breakfast of eggs and sausage, a green-chile burrito, huevos rancheros, or to-die-for Anaheim chiles stuffed with sausage and cheese and deep-fried before adding two fried eggs! The menu includes apple-wheat pancakes, fluffy omelets, and fruit and nut pancakes served with peppered bacon. Try an order of cheese grits and pecan-smoked sausage. Lunch is casual and filling, with a fine burger on the menu, as well as homemade chicken and dumplings, fried catfish, and chiles rellenos with red beans and rice. Ask about the daily specials. The interior is rustic, right up to the huge buffalo head on the wall. If it's a nice day, enjoy your meal on the patio. Buffalo Grille serves breakfast and lunch. You can also visit the new Buffalo Grille on Voss in the Galleria area. -- Lyn Foster

great value

great food at a great price. Our waffle breakfast had mounds of fresh strawberries. Sunday mornings get there early or you will have to wait in line. We will go back.

Marginal
By sspatters1 on 11/09/2006
I've eaten breakfast here several times now and perhaps I haven't ordered the "right " things, but the food's been marginal. The biscuits and eggs are fair, but the hash browns have been undercooked such that they're (it's?) not browned but still sort of gray. I will say, though, that the warmed syrup for pancakes/french toast is a nice touch. I just don't understand the long lines on the weekends...I must be missing something here.

Not that impressed

Good variety of choices, decent quality, but the service was terrible and the environment noisy. The staff was so rude, it scared my kids into never wanting to go back.
