If you can't get to Buenos Aires, get to Churrasco's. With signature dishes including charcoal-grilled tenderloins and Marineros, blue crab fingers smoked over burning corn husks and creamy chile-lime-butter dipping sauce, Churrasco's is the next best thing to flying down to Rio. Churrasco's is often counted among the best restaurants in the city. The seafood and steak menu is drawn from across South America and can be a little tricky for those unfamiliar with the exotic fare. Thankfully, there's a colorful, well-informed wait staff that's especially helpful at explaining the various dishes. For starters, a bottomless basket of plantain chips is paired with tasty sauce for dipping. If you're in the mood for a little liquid refreshment, try a Pisco Sour, a Churrasco's specialty drink made from brandy, fresh lime juice, a few drops of Angostura bitters and a frothy egg white foam. Be sure to ask for a fresh batch (not the machine-churned version). The Cordua brothers started Churrasco's. With its enormous success, it's now a mini chain but still small enough to give customers personalized attention.

Best South-Am in the country

Went there last year while on business travel to Houston. It was late on a weekend. Very good service. The outside of the restaurant looks normal but inside is gorgeous. The menu has many Colombian dishes, including traditional south american items such fried plantains, black beans, grilled vegetables, and others. Try the desserts.. The Flan is creamier than the mexicn version. Great food worth all its prize

My favorite restaurant. The appetizers with three choices (crab claws, fried calamari, fish, and shrimp, and 3 different types of empanadas is outstanding. The ceasar dressing used in their ceasar salad is amazing...they will serve you a "deconstructed ceasar" if you ask for it with the romaine served in a glass and standing up for you to dip into the dressing offered in a bowl. You will not be sorry to try it this way! Save room for the wonderful signature dish (churrasco) dinner and exquisite desserts. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny

"Above it all" service. Plan on waiting 30-45 minutes , even if you HAVE A RESERVATION.

TRy the Red Onion Grill on Kirby at %9; for the same food, lower prices and WAY less prices for drinks AND wine!
