The alien band dancing on the roof is the first indication that this place is a little different. While the outdoor patio offers a calm flower-enriched retreat, indoors there's riot of color, sound and flavor. A blend of Brazilian and Central Mexico influences both the dcor and the menu. Large palm tree sculptures, catchy phrased t-shirts, multi-colored ceramic birds and velvet paintings appear everywhere. Since the doors opened in 1982, this tacky-sheik Elvis-enrobed establishment has been churning out great Mexican food based on family and friends' recipes. The hot sauce, chips and tortillas are made fresh every day and are served in never-ending rations. The cabana-styled bar pours up lavish tropical drinks along with their special margarita -- swirled, not shaken. The bar opens up for dining on busy weekends and the television is always set to the latest sporting event. The place fills quickly and reservations are not accepted, but the wait is never too long with a margarita and basket of chips by your side.

Loved It!!
By DonWls3 on 07/25/2008
I am from Ohio and went to Katy, TX to visit a friend. She was told about Chuy's by a friend so we went and tried it. We all like it very much. I had the chicken fajita's and it was the best chicken I've ever eaten in a Mexican restaurant. I loved the fact that I could build the fajita myself. They brought all the topping out separated on a plate along with fresh tortillas. It was delicious!!! I would definetely go there again and would recommend it to everyone I know!

You Texans dont get it

This is New Mexican food. The green chile from Hatch (New Mexico) should have given you your first clue. If you think this is not good, then you probably think that Taco Bell is good and real mexican good.
