An iron martini glass door fixture and the crucial phrase "Quality Lounging," which sums it all up, accentuate the incognito look of The Davenport's opaque facade. Upscale and intimate, The Davenport pours 60 single malt Scotches, 50 specialty and award-winning martinis, and 35 vodkas. Known for some of the best-made drinks in the city, The Davenport has won both Texas Restaurant Association and Houston Press people's choice awards for Best Martini. The atmosphere is '50s cool with local artwork always on display and separate areas featuring a video aquarium and a video fireplace. The bar draws a good singles crowd throughout the week and live DJs spin during Tastylick every Wednesday 9PM to close. Every drink is special at the Davenport, so there are no happy hour specials. -- Chase Hamblin

This place has the best drinks in town! Every drink is a double so you also have one of the cheapest places in town, too. The Davenport can get too crowded and loud on Wed, Fri, and Sat, but when I feel like getting a drink early or showing up during the week, I always have a great time.
