The Fish is the place to go for a night of sightseeing -- if the sights you want to see are beautiful people. Located on the far east side of the Montrose area in midtown Houston, The Fish, formerly Blowfish, is a hip venue patronized by hip up-and-comers. With a funky-chic dcor of warm purples and midnight black around gleaming chrome, with mood lighting, it has a bit of the fish bowl feel to it, with little fin room whether you're there for a power lunch, designer dinner, or close-the-business cocktails with other savvy sharks. It offers a bit of dazzle in the presentation of creative Asian fusion fare like rich miso, world-class rolls, spicy scallops, sashimi and other exceptionally flavorful finger foods served at the crowded sushi bar, which is one of the best in the city. Chilly mixed drinks, imported and domestic beer, and fine selections of wines complement the meals. Prices match the pocketbooks of the privileged clientele. -- Lyn Foster

LOVE IT!!

I love the sushi here! The best specialty roll is the lobster roll. Also, get the lobster and crab puffs for a hot appetizer. Delicious!

Find a better Place!!
By requenalpeanut on 01/04/2007
The name should still be blow fish because this place does blow. The sushi was not very fresh the sushi that was supposed to be serverd cold was room temp. For the price the pieces are small, and the wait staff is not very savy on their product. I have been to better sushi bars with better service and better sushi at a better price.

There are a few other sushi bars with fresher, larger, and more perfectly trimmed and carved portions, but the atmosphere is great in the Midtown area, and this place is fun to be in. But send your food preparation staff around town to sample the competition's offerings.
