At first glance, the House of Pies would seem like just another full-service, 24-hour diner. But look a little closer, and you'll find one of the hottest late-night spots in Houston. You'll see all kinds of patrons and pies here -- it's not uncommon to find curfew-breaking club kids and Houston socialites sitting side-by-side after a long night on the town. With more than 40 pies and cakes to choose from, the menu and the portions are definitely Texas-sized; if in doubt, take a look at the description of the Sausage Scrambler. The diner-style service is so authentic that you may have the urge to call your waitress Flo. If you arrive any time after 1AM, be ready to wait a while for your table, but the experience is well worth the wait.
