La Strada describes its cuisine as new Italian. Houstonians describe it as delicious. From the hand-tossed pizza baked in a brick oven to the Picchio Jeanie (angel hair pasta tossed with jumbo shrimp, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and garlic), this is real Italian food. Try the Oak Roasted Chicken and caramelized onion pizza or the shrimp and goat cheese pizza for something a little different. The lobster bisque is a house specialty, as is the Casa Mista (greens and tomatoes tossed in a red wine vinaigrette topped with Parmesan and crumbled croutons). Both are favorite starters. Daily grilled specials make the most of seasonal ingredients, including the freshest vegetables. There's a corn crusted fish of the day served with rosemary potatoes and sauteed spinach topped with a drizzling of roasted ancho-chipolte sauce and pan seared chicken breast with shrimp and artichokes served over angel hair pasta. Red snapper, veal chops, tuna, filet mignon and ribeye steaks round out La Strada's menu.

cold crab cakes
By ljpanggee on 05/10/2004
What a disappointment. The waitress was very nice and tried to please, but the crab cakes should have been better quality and the kitchen had a very hard time getting them out hot.

It was hard to enjoy brunch sitting near the back with the music blaring out so loud.

It was fun getting the multi colored beads, but the paper napkins were so thin and small.
