Lupe's Tortillas offers a no-fuss dining experience that kids and parents can both enjoy. A large outdoor sandbox keeps kids and tots occupied through the wait, while Mom and Dad join other area thirty-somethings on the deck for one of Lupe's tangy, potent margaritas. Though best known for its uniquely flavored fajitas, Lupe's offers a variety of flavorful Tex-Mex selections that can delight even the pickiest of eaters. Dishes such as the Chicken Lupe and tacos al carbon are served along with bottomless baskets of chips and spicy beans and salsa. The appropriate Tex-Mex decorations adorn the walls of this former single-family house, and the waitstaff add a dash of color with their festive Hawaiian shirts. Most guests don't seem to mind the usual wait, but, if you are the impatient kind, call ahead for a takeout order. Folks keep coming back to this place, sometimes from as far away as San Antonio and Austin, so that should tell you something about the quality of the food. -- Amy Kerr
